Mercury Racing 250 L

The Mercury Racing 250R outboard is engineered for boaters who demand strong acceleration and high top speed in one package. It has the muscle to lift a heavy tournament boat out of the hole and the deep-breathing power to keep pulling at wide-open throttle.

A 4.6L V8 powerhead sits at the core of the 250R. A performance-tuned long-runner intake and a 32-valve dual overhead cam valve train help the engine move more air and fuel. Mercury Transient Spark technology further boosts torque for a stronger hole shot.

The Tri-Ram Conventional MidSection (CMS) is designed for stability and control at very high speeds. Solid lower engine mounts and a high-durometer upper mount reduce movement and sharpen handling in demanding single-engine setups.

A race-proven Sport Master surface-piercing gearcase lets the 250R run cleanly at speeds beyond 85 mph. It features low water pickups and a crescent leading edge to maximize efficiency and maintain water pressure. A wide selection of Mercury Racing propellers makes it easy to fine-tune performance for your boat.

The standard Devil Red Eye cowl accent panel gives the engine an aggressive look. It can be replaced with an optional Graphite Gray panel to better match the boat.

The V8 250R delivers its performance using readily available 87-octane fuel. Mechanical throttle and shift provide precise, familiar control and make repower projects straightforward. Optional Mercury power steering can further enhance comfort and confidence at high speed.
